CSDA is providing acoustical consulting services for the 420 Sutter Hotel in San Francisco, CA. The project consists of the construction of a new 12-story tourist hotel building. There will also be a rooftop deck for passive recreational use, a ground level lobby/public space and retail.
Our scope of acoustical consulting services includes an Environmental Noise Study complying with the City’s Entertainment Commission requirements to quantify noise from nearby places of entertainment. The Study included the calculation of required window STC ratings to meet the Building Code and City of San Francisco acoustical standards.
CSDA was retained to provide acoustical consulting services for this mixed-use project located along busy Telegraph Avenue in Oakland. The project consists of a 97-unit apartment building with Type V wood frame construction over a Type I podium. We provided an environmental noise study, along with architectural acoustics input for demising assemblies such as party walls and floor-ceiling assemblies. An analysis of HVAC and mechanical noise/vibration was also conducted.
CSDA has been retained to provide acoustical consulting services for the UCSC Rachel Carson Dining Hall project. The new dining hall will be built to accommodate student demand as well as increase operational efficiencies and provide new amenities such as a performance bar, kitchen and bakery area. The project will achieve a minimum of LEED Silver certification and strive for Gold. CSDA’s scope of services includes room acoustics, sound isolation and MEP noise/vibration.

• Ambient noise monitoring at sensitive receivers
• Data analysis
• Design of construction mitigation measures
Continuing from the current terminus of the Metro Purple Line at Wilshire/Western, the Purple Line Extension will be completely underground and extend westward for about nine miles along Wilshire Boulevard with seven new stations. It will provide a highcapacity, high-speed, dependable alternative for those traveling to and from LA’s “second downtown,” including destinations such as Miracle Mile, Beverly Hills, Century City, and Westwood.
