CSDA was retained to provide acoustical consulting for Potrero Block B located in the Potrero neighborhood in San Francisco. The project is two 7-story buildings that will consist of 157 affordable housing units with ancillary spaces (e.g., flex room, homework room), childcare center and parking.

Our services include acoustic measurements, construction site visits, design input for sound isolation, HVAC/mechanical systems, room acoustics and community noise beginning with an Environmental Noise Study and ending with Construction Administration.

CSDA was retained to work for the 266 4th Street Housing residential project in San Francisco, CA. The project is being built on a flat L-shaped parcel and will be an 8-story residential building with 70 affordable below-market units ranging from studios to-two bedroom units. The apartments will occupy floors 2-8 and the first floor will have retail space, amenity spaces, at-grade courtyard, garden, play space and a top-floor terrace. The building is situated above a future SFMTA subway station under construction as part of the Central Subway Project.

Our acoustical consulting services includes an environmental noise study, Central Subway vibration evaluation, as well as input on sound isolation, room acoustics and MEP/HVAC noise and vibration.

CSDA worked with the developer and Mithun to provide acoustical consulting for Hunters Point Shipyard Area Blocks 52 and 54 located located on non-contiguous parcels at 151 & 351 Friedell Street in San Francisco. The development consists of two buildings ranging from one-bedroom to five-bedroom units for low-income families. Offices

Our services include acoustic measurements, construction site visits, design input on sound isolation, HVAC/mechanical systems, room acoustics and community noise.

CSDA provided acoustical consulting services to Taylor Design for a new MRI facility in the Hospital. CSDA reviewed and analyzed the Air Handler/Water Chiller equipment installation locations and equipment sound data and calculated the expected noise levels from the rooftop equipment into the spaces below. Noise reduction recommendations including sketches and details were provided. Vibration isolation recommendations were made to reduce structure-borne noise transfer into the building.

CSDA also reviewed the MRI noise data and calculated MRI noise to the adjacent spaces as well as performing measurements and analysis of floor vibration with respect to the MRI manufacturers vibration criterion.

CSDA was retained to work with the design team to provide acoustical consulting services for the 1951 Harbor Bay Park Exelixis Offices located in Alameda, CA. The project site is in the Harbor Bay area in Alameda, just north of Oakland International Airport. Exelixis, a biotechnology company that specializes in the development and commercialization of new medicine to treat difficult cancers, is expanding its offices to build a new headquarters. The new office building will have conference rooms, private offices, open offices, a fitness area, break/All-Hands space, and other ancillary spaces.

The scope of work included an Environmental Noise Study/Facade Design as well as sound isolation, room acoustics, HVAC/MEP noise and vibration analysis during the Design Development, Construction Document, Permit/Bid and Construction Administration phases. CSDA is honored to work with the team in providing Exelixis with space to further their admirable mission of working towards a cure for cancer.
