RAVENSWOOD FAMILY HEALTH CENTER

CSDA provided acoustical consulting services for the Ravenswood Family Health Center in East Palo Alto, CA. The two-story, 35,000 square foot medical office building provides outpatient services. We provided acoustical design input and recommendations for:

  • Speech privacy between exam rooms, consultation rooms, group offices, reception areas, and the conference room
  • HVAC noise and vibration
  • Room acoustics in the occupied spaces, especially the conference room.

UCLA MEDICAL CENTER KIDNEY TRANSPLANT SUITE

The planned UCLA Medical Center Kidney Transplant Suiteā€™s conference room and group spaces incorporate numerous hard finishes (e.g., tile, wood, glass) that could result in excessive reverberation and unintelligible speech. The exam rooms and doctor offices need to provide doctor/patient confidential speech privacy to comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). An analysis of sound isolation, room acoustics and HVAC noise resulted in recommendations and acoustical solutions to mitigate speech privacy and intelligibility concerns.
