LOCATION: Milwaukee, WI
PROJECT TYPE: Acoustical Design
CLIENT: KPH Construction
CONSTRUCTION YEAR: 2012
The planned lounge for the Iron Horse Hotel is located adjacent to a room containing the hotel’s primary HVAC equipment, including a screw chiller. Due to the prominent tonal noise from the screw chiller and its negative impact on the lounge, an acoustical analysis and corresponding acoustical recommendations were made to reduce the chiller noise to acceptable levels and improve the lounge acoustics to enhance speech intelligibility and the quality of music playback.
