OCCIDENTAL COLLEGE POOL & TENNIS COURTS

CSDA is providing acoustical engineering services for the construction of a new pool complex and tennis courts on the Occidental College campus. Our services include a noise study to assess noise transfer from the sports complex to the adjacent residential community. Based on long term measurements along the project perimeter, CSDA’s acousticians calculated the expected noise levels from competitive events at the new pool and tennis courts, The analysis included noise from the amplified sound system, spectators, new mechanical and pool equipment and traffic. We provided noise mitigation recommendations to meet the City of Los Angeles Municipal Code and the Noise Element in the City’s General Plan.

CITYSPACES 333 12TH STREET

CSDA was retained to provide acoustical consulting at 333 12th Street in San Francisco. We provided acoustical recommendations for the project to meet City and State code requirements. The building consists of 201 residential units, with bicycle parking, a courtyard, and roof deck.

 

PRESIDIO KNOLLS SCHOOL

CSDA conducted an environmental noise study for the planned Presidio Knolls School campus expansion in San Francisco, California. The project will replace existing campus buildings with new classroom buildings and a music building. CSDA identified noise reduction measures needed for the new proposed buildings to meet City of San Francisco and State of California noise criteria.

 

STEPHEN W. WISE TEMPLE TYBERG INNOVATION LAB

CSDA provided acoustical design services to Lehrer Architects for the renovation of Art and Tech Classrooms at the Stephen S. Wise Temple. The renovation entailed conversion of three classrooms into two larger ones, and involved removal of suspended lay-in ceilings and addition of an operable wall. Acoustical finishes were recommended to control noise buildup and promote speech clarity within the classrooms. The operable wall system was selected for appropriate levels of sound isolation, and detailing was provided by CSDA in design and construction to ensure acoustical treatment continuity on all sides of the partition.

VIBRA HOSPITAL CHILLER REPLACEMENT

CSDA worked with Puchlik Design Associates, Inc. to analyze noise levels for compliance with local code requirements for a temporary chiller at Vibra Hospital in Folsom, California. This chiller was online for several months during sourcing and installation of the new permanent chiller. CSDA’s analysis included ambient noise measurements at the project site, calculation of anticipated noise levels due to temporary chiller operation, and recommendations for reduction of noise transfer to surrounding residential properties.
