LOCATION: San Francisco, CA
PROJECT TYPE: Acoustical Consulting
CLIENT: Eaton Hall Architecture
CONSTRUCTION YEAR: 2016

Eaton Hall Architecture retained CSDA to provide acoustical services for design of the SPiN San Francisco table-tennis hall. Located on the ground floor of a low-rise commercial building in San Francisco’s South of Market Area (SOMA) with offices directly above, the table tennis-themed social club, restaurant and bar must meet the City’s noise criteria. The City of San Francisco’s Noise Ordinance limits the noise generated by the project to the adjacent offices and public right-of-way. Based on the construction documents, CSDA calculated projected noise and vibration levels from the HVAC equipment as well as potential noise transfer from the restaurant to the upstairs offices. Drawing on our extensive experience with room acoustics, CSDA provided reverberant noise buildup solutions that will help reduce noise transfer to the offices and support sound system clarity within the entertainment space.
