As a key project within Hayward Unified School District’s school construction bond program, Tyrrell Elementary School was expanded and redesigned to be a high-performance 21st Century learning facility. The project includes:
• New flexible classroom buildings with a variety of learning spaces designed to accommodate different modes of learning and teaching.
• A new administration building which serves as a campus gateway with a clear, welcoming entry and secure access control.
• A new multi-purpose building at the heart of the campus that easily transforms to accommodate food services, theatrical performances and athletics.
The balance of the campus was modernized to upgrade all systems and facilities to meet 21st Century design standards.
