Cities of Mountain View and Los Altos Aviation Noise Consultant

CSDA was retained by the cities of Mountain View and Los Altos to analyze noise from arrivals into Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC) during South Flow conditions (i.e., when aircraft are arriving from the north and taking off towards the south). Due to the implementation of Metroplex/NextGen, the South Flow arrival path over South Bay cities was changed and concentrated so that aircraft turn directly over Mountain View and Los Altos before beginning their final approach to SJC.

Our team evaluated various arrival alternatives and modeled the expected noise reduction from each alternative in the AEDT software. We also provided technical support to the cities in preparation for South Flow Ad Hoc Committee meetings. After the Ad Hoc Committee was disbanded, our team continued to support Mountain View and Los Altos with aviation noise issues for both SJC and San Francisco International Airport.
