Universal Studios Quarterly Sound Monitoring

CSDA is conducting sound monitoring services as part of our second seven-year contract with the County of Los Angeles Department of Regional Planning. The project involves quarterly monitoring activities that occur at six off-site, public locations around the perimeter of Universal Studios, as determined by the Los Angeles County Specific Plan. Monitoring activities occur concurrently over 24-hour periods and are fully attended for 24 hours. This monitoring program requires over 15 staff members during the monitoring period and demonstrates our ability to conduct large-scale monitoring programs. As requested, CSDA also performs additional sound monitoring studies for special outdoor events with more than 250 attendees that include amplified sound. In addition, we document the monitoring process through each step of execution and provide presentations and written reports for each monitoring event.

CSDA is registered with the GAIN/GROW work program through which we are hiring and training qualified individuals to supplement our internal staff. With our participation in the GAIN/GROW hiring program, we have provided employment opportunities to County residents, teach them new vocational skills, and help them to improve their future job prospects. The trained GAIN/GROW staff assist our team with the on-site measurements and note the time and cause of any events above the Specific Plan noise limits.
