Randy Waldeck to Speak at the 2014 Airport Noise Mitigation Symposium
Randy Waldeck, PE, Principal Acoustician of CSDA Design Group, will lead a presentation describing our work on the current Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP) at the upcoming Airport Noise Mitigation Symposium (ANMS). Through this study for the Transportation Research Board of the National Academies, CSDA is evaluating methods for determining interior noise levels used in airport sound insulation programs nationwide. Our team of expert researchers is evaluating acoustical measurement methods employed in FAA-sponsored airport sound insulation programs including aircraft flyover, elevated exterior loudspeaker, ground level exterior loudspeaker, indoor loudspeaker and sound intensity.
Randy will discuss past, present and future ACRP research and how the national standards for noise measurement methods are evolving. He is working with the following consultants on the ARCP study:
- Dr. Paul D. Schomer, PE, Principal Investigator
- John C. Freytag, PE, Researcher
- Herbert L. Singleton, PE, Researcher
About the ANMS
The 14th annual ANMS will be held October 5-7, 2014 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The ANMS is attended by airport personnel, consultants, manufacturers, contractors and community leaders, with a focus on working together to plan and implement various mitigation measures to reduce aviation’s noise impact in the community. The symposium is organized by The American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE). Visit the ANMS website to learn more.
