Vibration generated by transit, construction, and other equipment can adversely impact building structures and their occupants. In addition, floor vibration in buildings due to sources such as occupants, mechanical/HVAC equipment, and transit can negatively affect sensitive equipment such as imaging devices, medical equipment, and other precision devices.

CSDA works with facility owners, transit agencies, and stakeholders to measure, analyze, and reduce vibration levels by providing:

  • Field vibration measurements (acceleration, velocity, displacement)
  • Construction vibration monitoring and analysis
  • Modeling and mitigation of environmental vibration levels
  • Analysis of floor vibration and its impact on sensitive equipment
  • Vibration reduction strategies and implementation

In an effort to address noise concerns, the federal government has funded programs to retrofit impacted properties with architectural solutions aimed at achieving acceptable interior noise levels. These retrofits reduce speech interruption and sleep disturbance in homes and improve learning environments in schools. We respectfully work with each community to provide acoustical solutions that offer healthier, more comfortable environments.

Environmental / Transportation Noise

  • Construction
  • Central Plants
  • Equipment Yards
  • Helicopter
  • Industrial Facilities
  • Rail
  • Vehicle

By necessity, transportation systems are placed near population centers. The resulting noise and vibration may adversely impact the quality of life for nearby residents and the surrounding communities. Government agencies are well aware of these environmental impacts and have set regulatory compliance standards to ensure community wellbeing.

CSDA works with planners, engineers, and project managers to meet regulatory requirements for noise by providing:

  • Acoustical measurements
  • Architectural and acoustical design
  • Environmental noise and vibration studies
  • General plan noise elements
  • Noise and vibration monitoring
