The intention of the Comprehensive Coastal Communities Competition (3C) was to source creative designs for coastal communities in Long Island, New Jersey, NYC, and Southern New England that were damaged by Hurricane Sandy. The 3C received entries from over 20 countries around the world. As one of the competition’s top 32 finalists, CSDA’s submission, titled “Shut the House Up!,” received honorable mention.
Design highlights included operable skylights with stormproof glass, a raised concrete floor, cement board siding, and an operable sun shading overhang. The project was located in Manasquan, NJ.
CSDA’s team consisted of the following individuals from our Los Angeles office: Yong Yoo, Grace Gardner, Amanda Hutt, Mark Motaghy, Jocelyne Perdomo, and Victoria Yau.
